We don't want our babies to just have homes - we want them to have good homes!"

We want to be sure our kittens are placed in loving homes, where they will continue to receive the care and love they have been accustomed to at Chateau Amor.  We ask that all prospective parents tell us a little about themselves and the home they will provide before an adoption agreement is finalized.

By virtue of our passion, Chateau Amor maintains contact with many in our communities and in the cat fancy.  Occasionally we will hear something through the grapevine that would make us hesitant to place a kitten in a home.  While we strive to be fair with everyone in this respect, we reserve the right to selectively choose homes for the babies.  Our first responsibility is to the little ones who have been divinely placed in our care.

Please be sure you can provide a good, safe, clean, indoor environment before asking to adopt one of our babies.  We will keep them at Chateau Amor as long as it takes to assure they are placed in a committed, healthy, nurturing environment. 

Our application process will involve an application or interview designed to let us understand a little about you and the environment the kitten will be raised in.  Some of the things we'd like to know include:

• Where will the kitten live?  How long will it need to be left alone during an average day?
• Do you have other pets?  How many and what kind?  Are all current pets tested against disease and up to date on immunizations?
• Do you have children?  How many and what are their ages?
• Have you ever surrendered a pet to a shelter and, if so, what were the circumstances?
• Have you owned a Persian before and/or you familiar with their special needs and grooming maintenance requirements?
